My Approach

I have been working with children with different abilities for over 10 years. I have worked with children across many settings including; school, camp, therapy centers, and in my client's home. Through my years of work I found that working with a child in their home is the best way to ensure carry over to their daily life.

Working with total communication, I integrate Spelling to Communicate (S2C) as a key method for children who face challenges in expressing themselves verbally. S2C allows children to spell out their thoughts and ideas, providing them with an alternative, yet powerful, means of communication. This approach not only supports their cognitive and language development but also builds their confidence in interacting with others.

 

By working closely with parents and caregivers, we ensure that both Spelling to Communicate (S2C) and the DIR® Floortime approach become integral parts of the child’s daily life. These methods empower the child to connect more deeply with the world around them, while also providing parents with the tools to be their child’s strongest advocates. Through collaboration and continuity of care, we create an environment where the child can thrive, achieving progress that goes beyond our wildest dreams.

I always consult with a certified ICDL mentor, I-ASC certified practitioner and peers to make sure that I am always providing the best care possible.
